What is augmented reality?

Augmented reality (AR) is a digital, interactive experience where objects in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated content. AR is typically experienced through a headset or mobile device using a custom viewing app.

What is a "blingar?"

A “blingar” is a standard finisher medal (bling) that is boosted by AR. When scanned with a smartphone using the Blingar app, it comes to life in an entertaining experience highlighting a runner’s personal race achievement.

What does the process entail?

Upon receiving finalized medal artwork or a physical sample, it can take up to 45 days from blingar concept through app integration. The creation of a themed, digital achievement badge also occurs within this time frame.
